Unique Hotels in the World

All over the world, there are all sorts of hotels offering various services and peaks to tourists and vacationers. There are also hotels located in various areas around the world that are regarded as distinct or unusual and are considered as a destination instead of an accommodation. These hotels are famous for their unique features and characteristics.

In Dubai, Rose Tower, is regarded as the world's tallest hotel. It is a 72 storey building whose original design is supposed to be 1200 feet high but is only built at 1090 feet. Its construction started in 2004 but was only finished after 3 years in 2007.

The record for being the world's largest hotel with the most available room is held by the Palazzo Resort Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, USA. It is a luxury hotel and casino with 3068 all-suite rooms and 375 concierge-level suites, comparable to a small city with restaurants, shops, casino and 7 swimming pools.

The oldest hotel can be found in Komatsu, Japan. The Hoshi Ryokan hotel, with 100 rooms, has been opened to for service for more than 1300 years under the successive management of an honor family 's 46 generations.

The Cedar Creek Tree house hotel in Mt. Rainier in the Washington area is owned and built by Bill Compher. This unusual hotel is big enough for 5-people accommodation. To reach the hotel, guests must climb a 50-feet hike up on a 200-year-old Western Red Cedar tree. Safety measures are provide in climbing but children under the age of 10 are prohibited inside the tree house bathroom, kitchen and dining area, not to mention skylights and an observatory 100 feet up that offers great views from all around.

In Cappadocia, Turkey there are several underground hotels rendering their services but topping all of them is the Gamirasu Cave Hotel. Some of the hotel's 18 exquisitely adorned rooms are monk cells that are carved into the cave or are built using volcanic rocks. When inside the hotel, a guest is provided with a calm, cool and peaceful ambiance and the feeling of being transported back in time.

Not everyone would think of sleeping inside a drain pipe, but the creator Daspark Hotel in Lintz, Austria made it somehow inviting. It is considerably a small hotel with only three concrete drainpipes in the middle of a park where each teensy room can accommodate two persons on its double bed small storage space, and power outlets. Food, toilets and showers are not located inside the room but are instead located in close proximity. The drain pipes are locked with a safety code for security concerns.

The Ice Hotel in Quebec, Canada is yearly enhanced and modified with 15,000 pounds of snow and 500 pounds of ice. It has 34 rooms built like an ice chapel, it has 2 art galleries. Inside the hotel, the temperature ranges from 23°F to 28° F with beds made out of ice. A wooden plank is placed between the ice and a comfy mattress for the guest to lie on. There is also a special sleeping bag which can comfortably insulate its user from a temperature up to -40°F. The heated facilities including the bathroom are located in an adjacent hotel.
